Businessman shot dead in Thika

A businessman was last evening shot dead by unknown assailants at Makongeni area in Thika, Kiambu County.

James Ndungu Gitau was shot dead while he was preparing to close his shop at Makongeni phase five on Saturday evening.

According to his wife Joyce Wairimu, two men armed with pistols entered their shop and ordered them lie down.

The gunmen then went ahead to shoot Mr. Gitau before escaping.

The businessman died while undergoing treatment at the Thika Level Five hospital where he was rushed after the incident.

Locals are blaming the bodaboda operators of complicity over rise in crime in the area.
