Cabinet approves Sh10bn for repeat presidential election

The Cabinet has approved Sh10 billion for the repeat presidential election that has now been pushed to October 26.

The Executive also approved an allocation of Sh25 billion to facilitate realisation of free secondary education as promised by the Jubilee leaders on the  campaign trail.

An additional Sh6.5 billion has also been approved to enhance the Inua Jamii programme, aimed at improving the welfare of Kenyans aged 70 and above, while another Sh4.2 billion has been approved for hosting the African Nations Championships (CHAN) in January next year.

Further, the Cabinet has further approved Sh1.9 billion to settle the last batch of the internally displaced persons.
