CAK Approves Use Of Thin Sim Techology

CAK Chair Ngene Gituku says the authority will test the technology for a year on a pilot basis.

The platform, they say, will promote innovation in the ICT sector.

But Gituku says CAK will only allow the taisys type of thin sim technology for the trial period and if any defects are detected it will be disconinued before the body gives its final verdict.

Already, finserve, a firm majorly owned by equity bank, had been allowed to offer thin sim technology services, but parliament’s communication and ICT committee had halted plans to use the technology until CAK approves.
