Carjacking teens who killed a motorist arrested in Nakuru

Teenagers who carjacked and killed a motorist  in Narok last week were on Tuesday night arrested by police  at White House estate in Nakuru.

The four teens had stashed the body covered in blood inside the boot of the saloon car Reg. No. KBN 120P.

Detectives believed the four teenagers murdered the driver, Richard Simiron at J.B area in Mwariki, Nakuru after torturing him in a secluded area and were in the process of disposing the body when they were cornered.

The ID card belonging to the driver was retrieved from the car and indicated that the 36-year-old was a resident of Narok North.

Nakuru OCPD Musa Kongole said their counterparts in Narok County informed them of the incident and a team of detectives was quickly assembled to trail the vehicle after the tracking system traced to Mwariki area.

“Initially, the deceased’s mobile phone was out of network on Monday night. However, we traced the signal to Nakuru,” said the OCPD.

The four surrendered after a more than an hour chase.

The carjackers were identified as Cyrus Maina Muturi, a form four student at City Mission Secondary School in Section 58 Nakuru, Solomon Ndiru Njeri, a form four student at Fanaka High School in Narok, Moses Lonyeit Morgan and his brother Geoffrey Lompui Morgan.

According to police, the two brothers are on the police wanted list for alleged carjacking and robbery with violence incidences in Nakuru.

According to the OCPD, the suspects’ ages range from 17 to 19 years and are residents of Mwariki and Barnabas estates in Nakuru.

He said the four will be handed over to detectives from Narok where the crime was committed.
