Cashless Fare System In Matatus, Buses Starts

Kenya crosses into a new digital frontier early tomorrow morning when matatu and bus operators across the country introduce the new cashless fare system. The National Transport and Safety Authority Director General says the law requiring the use of the new technology of using cards in place of cash will be fully enforced from 1st December, as terminals for the digital system go live in the capital city with the technology set for gradual introduction in other parts of the country in the coming few weeks and months. And as Abdi Osman reports, many commuters and matatu operators across the country have complained they are not ready for the new system.
