CBK Governor Challenges His Prosecution

Ndung’u is appealing against a high court decision that gave a green light for his prosecution over a security tender.

High court judge George Odunga in his ruling delivered on 17th Nov 2014 said the Central Bank chief can not escape prosecution over the Ksh 1.2B tender.

Justice Odunga's ruling allowed the anti graft body EACC to prosecute Njuguna over a Ksh 1.2B security surveillance tender to a UK firm Horsebridge Network Systems ltd.

According to Njuguna, Odunga's ruling was wrong and erroneous as it does not have any legal basis and facts.

Njuguna further alleges that he is being accused of a non existent crime saying the judge erred by criminalizing a lawful procurement policy.
