Head of the house may answer census questions on behalf of occupants: UNDSS

The head of the household may answer questions on behalf of all occupants during the census.

This is one of the key points from the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) guideline.

“If that person is away at work when the enumerator comes to the house, the person responsible in the house may answer,” the UNDSS statement reads.

Other key points to note are that after August 25, the census will continue morning and evening up to Saturday, August 31.

The officials will be identified by an official identity badge with name and ID number; a heavy yellow fluorescent jackets with KNBS and census logo.

In urban areas, the officials will be accompanied by the estate leader.

“If you have visitors in your house on the census reference night, they will also be counted. If that person is away at work when the enumerator comes to the house, the person responsible in the house may answer,” the UNDSS statement reads.

After enumeration, the KNBS official will write a number on the door of the household, gate or other visible place to show that process is concluded.
