Centurion Danni Sserenkuma set to sign for Gor Mahia

Reports are emerging that KPL champions Gor Mahia are on the verge of beating a crowded list of top clubs to the signature of their former striker.

On Wednesday, talk was rife that AFC Leopards Coach Zdravko stood the best chance of signing Danni but that does not seem the case now.

“Of course you all know my connection with my ‘soldiers’. I’d like to have Danni and a couple of others who we’ll reveal when the time comes,” said a confident Logarušić.

Details emerging from Gor Mahia however, say the Ugandan who made a century of appearances for Gor Mahia between June 2012 and November 2014 has committed in principle to don the green and white again.

With the signing of the contract slated for somewhere early next week, a club insider says Danni’s second stay at Gor Mahia may extend to December 2016.

Granted, Sserunkuma would want to take up from where he left last season having scored 49 goals for Gor Mahia in the 100 appearances.

To sign the Ugandan however, Gor Mahia will have to part ways with at least one of its foreign players to comply with the KPL cap on foreign players.

Currently the club has the maximum seven in Meddie Kagere, Abouba Sibomana, Godfrey Walusimbi, Israel Emuge, Khalid Aucho, Dirkir Glay and Karim Nizigiyimana.
