Chamber of commerce vice chair charged with fraud

National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice Chairperson Laban Onditi Rao has been charged in court over land fraud.

Onditi was on Thursday arraigned before Nairobi Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku and charged with three charges of conspiracy to defraud and forgery of two documents in pursuit of a 4 hectares parcel of land in Embakasi Nairobi valued at Ksh2 billion.

It is alleged that on the 3rd of April 2014 at an unknown place together with others not in court with intent to defraud, conspired to defraud Roseline Njeri Macharia her of a parcel of land located in Embakasi.

He was released on a cash bail of Ksh300,000 with an alternative bond of Ksh500, 000.

The case will be mentioned on the 7th of February.
