Chaos in Nakuru after pro-Jubilee youth block Raila from leaving hotel
A standoff ensued in Nakuru after pro-Jubilee youth, carrying placards and chanting anti-opposition slogans blocked the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga from leaving a hotel room where he was meeting his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders from the area.
Raila, who is a tour of the vote-rich county, was meeting his party leaders from the area before proceeding for rallies in different parts of the county.
The move by the pro-Jubilee youth sparked off confrontations with their CORD counterparts and the two groups pelting stones at each other before police intervened.
Raila, however, managed to leave the hotel through the back door and headed for the rally.
