Charity Ngilu now hints at working with Uhuru’s government

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has hinted to a shift in allegiance from the NASA coalition, vowing to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government towards the actualization of her development agenda for the county.

Speaking during the sixth graduation of Kitui Teachers Training College’s sixth graduation, where she was the chief guest, Ngilu maintained that her five-pillar manifesto was in line with President Kenyatta’s big four agenda.

“I am going to work hand in hand with President Uhuru Kenyatta because his administration is spearheading a development agenda which is similar to mine,” she said.

“I stand for food and water, security, universal healthcare, youth and women empowerment and wealth creation which is basically what forms the Jubilee government’s agenda for Kenyans,” added the governor.

She further disclosed that the president had agreed to support her economic empowerment programme dubbed Ndengu Revolution, which could ultimately see the National Youth Service purchase green grams from Kitui farmers.

On the issue of charcoal burning, the former minister urged those opposing her position to join her in conserving the environment.
