Chepkwony Impeachment Hearing Starts Tomorrow

The Committee is meeting today to lay down ground rules and procedures for the hearing.

The committee chaired by Senator Chris Obure and deputized by Kiraitu Murungi will sit on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Those set to appear before the committee during the hearing are representatives of the Kericho County Assembly as well as the governor himself and his lawyer.

The besieged Governor was impeached by the Kericho County Assembly over abuse of office allegations

He has been accused of being in gross violation of the constitution, the County Government Act 2012, the Public Finance Management Act 2012 and the Public Procurement and Disposal Act.

The committee is expected to prepare a report and hand it over to the Senate for decision on his impeachment.
