Chief among three killed in Kirinyaga accidents

Three people among them a chief died on Sunday morning in two separate road accidents in Kirinyaga County.

Mwerua Location chief David Mwai Kiragu was heading home at 1am on a boda-boda when a saloon car knocked them down at Thumaita area along Kagio-Baricho Road killing him on the spot.

The rider survived with serious injuries and was taken to Kagio Nursing Home.

Kirinyaga West Deputy County Commissioner Moses Ivuto said the chief was returning home from Kagio town after leading a daylong crackdown on illicit brew.

In the second incident, two bodaboda riders died on the spot after they were hit by a matatu at Kibirigwi Trading Centre along Sagana-Kagio Road. The matatu was heading to Karatina from Nairobi.
