Chief Kadhi leads Muslims in marking Eid Ul Fitr

A section of Muslim faithful in Mombasa county have today, Saturday, celebrated  Eid-Ul-Fitr just a day after others defied the Chief Kadhi’s position and went ahead to mark the day yesterday.

Speaking at Mombasa county stadium during Idd prayers to mark the end Holy month of Ramadhan, Chief Kadhi Ahmed Mohdhar, Supkem secretary general Abdulghafur Al-Busaidy and other muslim leaders urged Muslim faithfuls to forget their differences and instead embark on uniting the community.

On the other hand, Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho, Senator Hassan Omar and Mvita Mp Abdulswamad Nassir who attended morning prayers also called on all Muslim faithfuls to work tirelessly and fight radicalization among youth so as to promote peace in the county.

The Muslim clerics and local legislators also encouraged Muslim faithfuls across the country to respect each other, adding that division will only divide the community and undermine development in the area.

Chief Kadhi Ahmed Muhdhar had announced that Eid Ul Fitr celebrations will be marked today and not yesterday as witnessed yesterday after failing to site the moon.
