Chief remanded for defiling minor

A chief from South West Seme location in Kisumu County is being held at Kombewa police station after he allegedly defiled a 14 year old girl at Kopudo village.

The suspect, Michael Odhiambo Oluoch, is said to have lured the minor who lives with her grandmother to his nearby shop then dragged her into his house where he defiled her repeatedly.

According to a community policing committee member, the chief who lives alone committed the act at around 10 am as the girl’s grandmother went to church.

Police rescued the suspect from irate members of the public who bayed for his blood after allegedly confining the minor inside his house for over six hours.

Confirming the incident, Deputy County Commissioner Gilbert Gitiyo has said the chief will be arraigned in court on Tuesday after investigations are completed.
