Chiloba answers NASAs claims hes still at work

IEBC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ezra Chiloba has refuted claims by the Suna East MP Junet Mohamed alleging that he (Chiloba) is helping facilitate a rigging process in favour of the ruling Party, Jubilee, in the October 26 repeat poll.

Mohamed, during a press conference in Nairobi, Thursday, said Chiloba went on leave after ensuring that a well-worked out plan, which will see President Kenyatta gets re-elected, is on course.

“Ezra Chiloba has duped Kenyans into believing that he went on leave, while in actual fact having stayed long enough after the Supreme Court nullification to sanitize the electoral fraud now being committed and visited upon Kenyans,” said Mohamed.

“He (Chiloba) is now a consultant in chief for Jubilee within the commission and is outrightly procuring fraudulent results to be tallied and posted as votes cast in Nasa strongholds. This is criminal. We invite the DCI to immediately commence investigations and probe the CEO plus any election official who may have yielded to his demands. Jubilee strongholds have less than 30 per cent voter turnout in their strongholds. The October 26 presidential poll was forced on Kenyans by Jubilee regime.”

Taking to Twitter Thursday evening, Chiloba dismissed Junet’s claims.

“I wish I could see myself as powerful as Hon. Junet sees me. The misleading allegations about me can only but polarise the country further,” said Chiloba.

Chiloba announced last Friday, October 20 that he was taking a three-week leave, paving way for the October 26 poll.

Ezra Chiloba said he had taken a personal decision to take leave in light of the opposition’s demands, without giving more details. He said all arrangements were in place for the election, as ordered by the Supreme Court.
