Police in Nairobi have arrested one Chinese national and seized more than 100 cartons of alleged fake anti-retroviral drugs (ARVs).

Cheng Xun Tian was arrested during a raid at his apartment in Nairobi’s Kilimani area.

The suspect who is being held at Kilimani police station is accused of being in possession of counterfeit ARVs.

Through his lawyer Ken Nyaencha, the suspect however insists that he is operating a legal business adding that he is a qualified doctor.

Investigations into the matter have been launched.
