Cholera Death Toll in Nairobi Rises to Eight

According to Fred Majiwa, the communications manager at St John Ambulance, the man exhibited signs of cholera like acute diarrhoea and dehydration.

Majiwa said that close to 100 victims have been admitted in isolation wards in Mbagathi hospital and other facilities.

Majiwa urged those who experience cholera like symptoms to urgently seek medical attention.

Majiwa said that over-populated areas with poor drainage and sanitation such as Mathare, Kibera and Eastleigh estates have been most affected after heavy rains and flash floods that have spread the disease fast.
