Christmas Day Triplets mother calls for gifts

As Christians all over the world commemorate the birth of their saviour Jesus Christ, 26-year old Monica Wanjiru marks this year’s Christmas Day at PCEA Kikuyu Hospital smiling at the sight of her new born triplets.

Wanjiru will spend the next few days at the maternity ward tending to her babies, who have been put under specialized care in incubators since they were born short of the recommended weight.

“The babies weigh between 1.1kgs to 1.8kgs and have complications,” said Angelica Mumbi, a pediatric clinical officer at the hospital, further calling on people of good will to support the family in caring for the babies noting that the milk needed for them is relatively expensive.

Elated Wanjiru, now a mother of four, expressed great joy and surprise at the ‘amazing’ Christmas blessing saying scans during pregnancy showed she was crying twins.

She further appealed for assistance from well-wishers in settling her maternity bill which has ballooned to Ksh 150, 000 owing to the caesarian section method used for the delivery.
