CID Officer Killed By Gunmen In Mombasa

Police say the CID officer attached to the Kenya Port Authority (KPA) was trailed and shot at close range by two gunmen who later fled.

The officer was shot three times in the abdomen and died upon arrival at the Mombasa Provincial General Hospital.

Mombasa County Commissioner Nelson Marwa confirmed the Wednesday night incident saying that investigations have since been launched.

In Nairobi, the Shauri Moyo OCS is fighting for his life in hospital after he was accosted and shot four times at his Ruai home.

The OCS was in his house when gunmen broke in and confronted him.

The motive of the attack is yet to be established.
