Citizen TV Sports anchor Bernard Ndong on Saturday woke up to the surprise news that he had been featured in a video by famed Brazilian football star Dani Alves.
Taking to Instagram, 36-year-old Alves uploaded a promotional video for his new fashion brand Sik Silk.
Ndong is featured in the introductory part of the video where he speaks about Alves’ decision to play in the next World Cup.
“Brazilian national football captain Dani Alves says he wants to play the next FIFA World Cup in 2022 in Qatar. The 36-year-old made the announcement during his unveiling at Sao Paolo,” says the news anchor.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Ndong said he was not aware he had been featured in the video and was only notified by a social media user.
He further stated that he was not contacted by the former Barcelona star’s team prior to the upload.
“I was really surprised when I found out that such a global football icon had featured me in his video… A stranger online – @denver_mulwale_wright – alerted me and when I checked it out, I was mind blown,” he said.
Dani Alves, who is considered the most decorated football players of all time having won over 40 trophies, previously played for Spanish giants Barcelona, then Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain before moving back home to Brazil where he now plays for Sao Paolo.
