The much-anticipated new face of Royal Media Services’ flagship station Citizen TV is now a reality.

It is timely, promising, authoritative, brilliant and captivating.

In what is poised to undoubtedly shake up the Kenyan media space, Citizen TV on Sunday unveiled a new line-up of star anchors coupled with a few familiar faces to spruce up your bulletins.

Kicking off the launch at 7pm was the much-anticipated duo of power couple Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan who have been paired to co-host Nipashe Wikendi every Saturday and Sunday.

At 9pm seasoned anchor Jeff Koinange took the wheels alongside Victoria Rubadiri for the all new ‘Sunday Live.’

The ‘Queen of Politics,’ Anne Kiguta, will steer ‘Monday Special’ while Hussein Mohammed will come in every Tuesday for ‘News Night.’ Jeff Koinange will be back again on Wednesdays with ‘Jeff Koinange Live’ as Yvonne Okwara steps in for ‘Tonight’ on Thursday.

Waihiga Mwaura and Jacque Maribe will host ‘Friday Night,’ paving the way for ‘Citizen Weekend’ with Lilian Muli.

The Swahili desk will also be revamped to feature an all-star cast consisting of Jamila Mohamed, Swaleh Mdoe, Mashirima Kapombe, Mwanahamisi Hamadi, as well as Nimrod Taabu.

Swaleh Mdoe will be hosting the Monday Swahili bulletin, while Mwanahamisi Hamadi will present news every Tuesday.

Jamila Mohammed, who is the Swahili news editor, will host Nipashe on Wednesdays.

Veteran broadcaster Nimrod Taabu will present news on Thursday while Mashirima Kapombe will host Nipashe on Friday.

On Monday, July 23 at 6am Day Break, a new-look Citizen TV breakfast show, premiers with presenters Willis Raburu, Joey Muthengi, Fred Indimuli and Waihiga Mwaura all set to bring a new start to your mornings every Monday to Friday from 6 to 9am.

Also starting Monday, Citizen TV unveils ‘Sema Na Citizen’, a three-hour mid-morning show that will be featuring the national conversation in Swahili from 11am – 2pm.
