City Lawyer Cautions Mau Mau Veterans

Miller and company advocates, the local agents for the UK based Tandem law firm representing 21 thousand Mau Mau war veterans in the case, has warned of conmen on prowl out to swindle the old men who are gullible for quick gain.

City lawyer Cecil Miller confirmed and emphasized that his firm is offering the service free of charge.

In a similar case last year, about 5,000 war veterans benefited from an out of court settlement with the British government.

However the British government seems to have cooled its heels on a similar procedure on the current case.

The Tandem law firm is also seeking individual compensation for the victims, a departure from the blanket compensation arguing out the different atrocities meted on each individual war veteran.

There are currently over 40,000 colonial war veterans profiled in the country.

Kenya has in past benefited from compensation from the British government on crimes committed on its citizens for instance the rape of Samburu women.
