Civil Aviation Workers Issue Strike Notice

The union wants the KAA management to address the current challenges facing its workers or else they will down their tools starting next week.

The union's Secretary General Moss Ndiema claimed that some managers were using police officers  to intimidate workers  and said this was illegal and unacceptable.

Ndiema cited one Simon Kamau Njoroge whom it accuses of harrassing workers.

He claimed that the said official recently instigated the arrest of two employees on account that they did not have valid driving licenses.

He said that the drivers were arrested at night and embarrassed before their families.

Ndiema added that the union wrote a letter to KAA’s Managing Director Lucy Mbugua to intervene on the matter and re deploy Kamau but their efforts have not borne fruits.

The union boss warned that should the Kenya Airport Authority management fail to address their grievances, they will have no other alternative other than down their tools next week.
