CJ Appoints Bench To Hear LAPSSET Project Case

Justices Richard Mwongo, Isaac Lenaola, Mumbi Ngugi, George Odunga and Joseph Onguto will hear the case that was filed in 2012.

The case that was filed in Malindi by Mohammed Ali Bahadi and 9 others from Lamu seeks to stop the LAPSSET project on grounds it would have negative effects on the Lamu socio-cultural, economic and environment life.

The 10 further argue that if the project was to be undertaken, it would be an infringement on their constitutional rights.

Justice Mwongo will preside over the bench.

Mutunga has also directed the five judge bench to give the matter priority.
