Chief Justice David Maraga on Friday called for collective effort in the fight against rising cases of defilement in the society.

Presiding over the opening of a Nyamira Law Courts, the CJ warned that sexual offences continue to destroyed lives of energetic youths majority of whom are the perpetrators.

The CJ further appealed to the elderly in society and church leaders to guide and counsel the youth.

He further directed the judiciary to decentralise administration of justice services to bring it closer to the people.

Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama indicated that some offices would be set aside for use by the local judiciary after construction is complete.

The county boss added that the offices will be dedicated to magistrates handling land succession and mediation cases which on  previous occasions took long to solve.

Nyamira Senator Okong’o Omogeni called on public servants to ensure financial resources from the government benefit local residents.
