Class 6 pupil lynched in Migori as locals claim he ‘terrorised’ them

Police in Awendo Sub County have launched investigations into the death of a Class six pupil who was lynched over theft allegations.

Confirming the incident, Awendo OCPD Mary Musyoka identified the pupil as Paul.

He was lynched by a mob after an allegedly foiled robbery attempt at Komolorume village in Awendo Sub County on Monday night.

According to the police boss, preliminary investigations established that the deceased pupil was in the company of three other individuals who managed to escape.

Locals claimed that the deceased had been part of a gang terrorizing residents.

Police discovered the body on Tuesday afternoon and it has since been moved to Rapcom Hospital mortuary pending investigations.

She said they are still in pursuit of the three other suspects.
