Boy commits suicide after parents refused to let him watch UEFA game

A class seven pupil is said to have committed suicide after his parents allegedly declined to let him go watch the UEFA Champions League finals.

Residents of Suba North constituency were left in a rude shock after Mavin Ochieng Okuku, a pupil at Ramba Primary School, reportedly hanged himself.

He was found with a trouser tied around his neck inside the house where he was sleeping on Saturday night.

According to chief of Mfangano North Location Bernard Oloo, the boy requested to go and watch the finals between Chelsea vs Man City at Ramba trading center.

However, the parents declined the request and ordered him to go and sleep.

The administrator says that the mother followed him immediately and locked the door from outside to prevent the boy from sneaking to go and watch the match.

He says that they are suspecting that the minor was unhappy with the decision of the mother to lock the door from outside.

It is suspected that he took the trouser and hanged himself in the bedroom.

The body was discovered by his mother who went to wake him up.

The minor’s body has been taken to Kirindo mortuary.
