Clergy wants academic fraudsters barred from public offices

Members of the Clergy have stepped pressure for resignation of political leaders with forged academic certificates and full implementation of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.

Bishops Paul Kariuki of Embu and Peter Kihara of Marsabit are now demanding careful scrutiny of academic papers of sitting and aspiring political leaders to rid the country of fraudsters.

The two clergymen say it is unfair for leaders with fake papers to continue enjoying benefits of leadership that come with their offices as thousands of educated youth suffer in unemployment.

They were speaking at Ishiara, Embu County where Catholic University Vice Chancellor, Prof Justus Mbae, urged Commission for University Education to enforce regulations governing award of degrees

This comes as Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is facing investigations for allegedly forging his 1993 KCSE slip.
