Coke Studio Back for Season 3, What Does It Have in Store?

Show organisers have promised an interesting twist in the new season and artiste collaborations in a unique form of mash-ups.

Production of Coke studio season three officially started this week with “Marrabenta” Queen Neyma from Mozambique and Nigerian sensation Olamide expected to host a live show on Saturday.

“A celebration of African talent” being its core element, Coke Studio Africa’s new season will feature performances and collaborations from popular artists who have made a mark on their local music scene, up and coming stars will be joining the line up as well.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

The show which, unlike other music shows in the region does not feature competition among artistes, will feature established and up and coming artistes performing collaborations of their biggest hits.

It also features a live band and an audience with new tracks being produced by both local and international producers.

Coca-Cola Senior Brand Manager, Otome Oyo stated: “This season of Coke Studio Africa promises to be bigger and better and will have something for everyone.”

Some of the acts to be featured this season are Kenyan artistes AVRIL, Wangeci, Elani and Jua Kali.

Artistes like Yemi Alade and Vanessa Mdee will be returning and for the first time, African queen singer 2Face Idibia will be joining the star studded lineup as well.

Other acts set for this season include Dr. Jose Chameleone, Ali Kiba, Neyma and Dama Do Bling from Mozambique.

Previous seasons of the show have proved popular with audiences, with show producers and audience expecting this season to do even better.
