Community tells Senator Khalwale to apologise

The Batstsostso community living in Lurambi, Kakamega County have now called on Kakamega Senator, Dr Bonny Khalwale, to offer a peace offering in form of a sheep and a chicken in order to ‘cleanse’ him after he allegedly caused fracas during a traditional ritual held by the community in 2015.

Speaking at the preparations of the ritual in Lurambi, James Amunze, the head of the steering committee of the Batstostso rituals, said that Senator Khalwale intentionally caused havoc and stripped the speech of Deputy President, William Ruto, who was the Chief Guest during the ceremony.

The community is also claiming that after the ceremony, they called upon the Senator and asked him to issue an apology but he dismissed them and instead proceeded to a church where he was prayed for.

Amunze has now warned that if Khalwale does not heed to the commands of the community, he may not stand a chance of winning his political bid for breaking the traditions of the community.
