Commuters stranded as police, NTSA launch crackdown on Thika Road

Motorists and commuters are stranded on Thika Superhighway following a crackdown by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) officials as well as traffic police officers.

According to sources who spoke to Citizen Digital, at least 58 unroadworthy vehicles had been impounded at the time of publishing.

Two police checks have reportedly been mounted on the road; one at Witeithie and another near the Vincentian Retreat Centre towards Thika.

The crackdown has caused a massive traffic snarl up with some of the motorists and commuters taking to social media to air their grievances.
