Compensate wananchi whose animals were mauled, MP tells KWS

Igembe North MP, Joseph Eruaki, has called on his constituents to maintain calm as the Kenya Wildlife services (KWS) works on their compensation after stray Meru National park animals mauled their animals.

Calling on KWS to work harder to manage human-wildlife conflict in the region, the MP noted that animals often leave the park in search of food and water.

Eruaki also asked KWS to expedite the compensation process as this would go a long way to maintaining calm in the region.

“KWS should work fast so as to avoid extra damages or else the locals will take matters into their own hands,” he warned.

Touching on the region’s education, the MP asked political leaders who stopped the construction of Kaelo Technical Training institute to withdraw the case from court so that construction can resume.
