Concede if you lose in August, Jubilee MPs tell Raila

The UhuRuto Express team has lashed out at the National Super Alliance (NASA), accusing the opposition coalition of making “wild allegations” that the Jubilee regime is planning to use the military to rig the August 8 polls so as not to concede if they lose in the August 8 poll.

The Jubilee team, which consists of sitting MPs who were trounced at the Jubilee Party primaries, now want NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga to concede defeat if he loses to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking in a series of campaign rallies in Kibugua, Chuka Town and Mitheru in Tharaka Nithi County on Saturday, July 29, the leaders termed the claims by NASA as “unfortunate, uncalled for and diversionary, solely meant to lay ground for ultimate refusal to accept defeat’.

“NASA has continued to fault IEBC despite the many efforts the electoral commission has put in place to ensure that elections will be free and fair. We cannot be floating unsubstantiated claims every time we sense defeat and expect that Kenyans will take you seriously,” said Gichugu MP Njogu Barua.

The leaders, however, exuded confidence that President Kenyatta will trounce his rival Odinga, and called upon residents of Tharaka Nithi to turn out in large numbers on polling day to give the Jubilee candidate an unassailable lead.

Other leaders present were Mary Wambui (Othaya), Jamleck Kamau (Kigumo), Joseph Kiuna (Molo), John Kihagi (Naivash), Nelson Gaichuhie (Subukia) and Joyce Ngugi.
