Controversial Nairobi MCA Mary Njambi, 3 others kicked out

Mary Njambi, a Nairobi MCA who took centre stage during former Speaker Beatrice Elachi’s planned ouster, has been suspended.

She and three others; Mary Ariviza, Laura Mwende, Nancy Muthami have been kicked out for 10 working days over gross misconduct.

A report from Nairobi County Assembly Powers and Privileges Committee said their behaviour was uncalled despite having differences with Elachi.

Arivisa on her part was suspended for a further 21 days for ‘heckling and laying on the floor of the House.’

In September last year, there was drama at the Nairobi County Assembly as the MCAs stormed Elachi’s office demanding her ouster.

Elachi, however, that very day obtained conservatory orders blocking her removal from office pending the hearing and determination of her petition.
