Cop arrested in Embakasi for killing man in suspected love triangle
A police officer has been arrested after allegedly shooting dead another man in Nairobi’s Kitindo neighborhood during a dispute over a woman.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m on Sunday.
Titus Kipchirchir Kirui is said to have killed Charles Karibu, 32, in a suspected love triangle involving an un-known woman.
According to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, the officer was enraged after the altercation before firing at him.
According to the report, efforts to rush him to the Mama Lucy hospital were futile because he was bleeding profusely from the gunshot wound.
An AK-47 was recovered from the suspected officer, as well as a spent cartridge, which were all kept as exhibits.
The victim’s body was moved to the City Mortuary pending an autopsy; detectives in charge of the case say an investigation is underway.
