Cops in pursuit of pastor who defiled minor in Homa Bay

Police officers in Homa Bay County have launched a manhut for a 48-year-old Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) Pastor who went underground to dodge police arrest after allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl within the church premises.

According to the police, Bernard Tambo who is in-charge of Homa Bay East District is reported to have defiled a class eight pupil on Wednesday afternoon at his house.

The minor had been sent by one of her teachers to deliver some letters to him on the material day.

Police say Pastor Tambo lured the minor during the visit before forcing her into his bedroom where he had carnal knowledge of her.

He reportedly threatened dire consequences should the girl reveal their secret to minors.

The priest’s actions were discovered after the teacher who sent the child to deliver letters interrogated her on why she too had taken long to return to school which is only 50 meters away from the church.

Although she did not divulge the information on the same day, the following day, she confessed the sordid details to her teacher.

The priest who was expected to lead a church service on Sunday went offline and switched off his mobile phone after realizing that police on his wake.

The minor’s parents are now demanding for immediate arrest and prosecution of the priest so that their child can get justice.

Homa-Bay sub county deputy police commander James Mugo confirmed the incident, saying a manhunt for the police is ongoing.
