CORD In First Step To Disband IEBC

A petition seeking the removal of all nine commissioners in the independent electoral and boundaries commission (iebc) has been filed in the national assembly. The petition drafted by activist Wafula Buke, and that is backed by a section of the opposition mps, is asking parliament to compel President Uhuru Kenyatta to establish a tribunal to probe iebc for gross violation of the constitution and incompetence in managing last year’s general election. But as Francis Gachuri reports, the petition faces a major hurdle in jubilee coalition’s superior numbers in parliament.
