CORD leaders call for justice as Jacob Juma is laid to rest

The late controversial businessman Jacob Juma who was shot dead last week by unknown people has finally been laid to rest at his Bumula home in Bungoma County.

Speaking during the burial, Opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula called for justice, insisting that the police are conducting shoddy investigations on the brutal murder of Juma.

Speaking to mourners at Juma’s Mung’ore Home in Bumula, Bungoma County CORD leaders accused the government of shielding those behind the murder.

On his part, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka intimated that Juma had vast knowledge on the Eurobond scandal, adding that he warned the connected businessman to be careful.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula challenged the Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, to start his probe by looking through the late Jacob Juma’s social media posts.

He further criticized DP Ruto’s remarks – when DP accused CORD leaders of taking advantage of Juma’s death to push their political agenda –   saying that his statement was insensitive.

Former Lygari MP Cyrus Jirongo also challenged the DP to take him to court over his remarks at the late businessman’s requiem mass.

During the funeral of the late businessman, it emerged that besides Juma’s known wife Miriam Wairimu, and her two children, Juma had two other wives with 4 children.
