CORD leaders urge Kenyans to register as voters

Coalition For Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga has encouraged Kenyans to participate in the one-month voter registration process that commences tomorrow (Monday).

Speaking during the burial of Prof Rok Ajulu in Bondo, Raila urged CORD supporters to register as voters so as to take part in the coming election.

Speaking at the same time, Siaya Senator James Orengo urged the mourners to register as voters which he said would enable them to vote in the opposition leader as president come August this year.

Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga and nominated MP Dr Oburu Oginga, who were also present, urged Kenyans to collect their ID cards from the registrar of persons offices countrywide in order to take part in the exercise.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commissions (IEBC) last week announced that it would be carrying out a mass voter registration exercise for one month starting tomorrow (Monday).
