CORD Pushes Council Of Governors To Join Referendum Push

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) now wants the Council of Governors to join its push for a referendum that aims at among other issues, increasing the amount of resources allocated to county governments. Governors have been separately pushing for a referendum seeking increased county funding. CORD co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula insist the referendum agenda was unstoppable, even as the government termed it a gimmick by governors seeking to escape scrutiny of county government’s misuse of public funds.
