CORD to re-introduce Prime Minister position – Khalwale

Ford Kenya Deputy Party leader, Bonny Khalwale, has revealed plans by the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) to re-introduce the Office of the Prime Minister if they win the next General Election.

Addressing the press at Parliament buildings on Wednesday, September 21, the Kakamega Senator said that the move is aimed at accommodating the presidential aspirant who would come third in CORD’s nominations.

He further revealed that they are in talks with Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, to join CORD ahead of the next elections.

On Tuesday, Wiper proposed the registration of CORD as a party and the holding of a joint nominations in a bid to prevent dividing votes to the benefit of Jubilee.

The announcement was made following the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at its headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi.

The proposal was supported by ODM leader, Raila Odinga, who noted that, in the arrangement, all parties will present candidates for nomination with the overall winner flying the coalition flag.
