Coronavirus cases in Kenya hit 10,105 after 379 more test positive

Coronavirus cases in Kenya hit 10,105 on Sunday after 379 more people tested positive.

The new cases are from 7,050 samples tested in the country between Saturday and Sunday and bring to total, 215,037 the number of samples tested so far.

376 of the coronavirus cases are Kenyan citizens while 3 are foreigners aged between 2 and 97-yearrs old.

In terms of gender, 253 are male while 126 are female.

The cases are distributed across the country as follows: Nairobi (209, Kiambu (49), Busia (38), Migori (19), Mombasa (16), Kajiado (12), Uasin Gishu (8), Lamu (6), Machakos and Nakuru (5) each and Garissa, Isiolo, Kericho, Nyamira, Nyeri and Trans-Nzoia (1) case each.

In Nairobi, the cases are distributed as follows: Kibra (52), Langata (45), Kamukunji (28), Dagoretti North and Makadara (17) each, Embakasi Central (9), Embakasi East (8), Westlands (7), Dagoretti South,Embakasi West, Kasarani and Roysambu (4) cases each, Ruaraka, Embakasi South (2) cases each and Mathare and Starehe (1) case each.

In Kiambu, the cases are distributed as follows: Ruiru (16), Kiambu Town (15), Lari (7), Kikuyu (4), Limuru and Thika (2) cases each, Gatundu South, Kabete and Kiambaa (1) case each.

In Busia, the 38 cases are in Teso North (18), Matayos (15) and Teso South (5).

In Kajiado, the 12 cases are in: Kajiado East (7),and Kajiado North and Kajiado Central (2) cases each.

In Uasin Gishu, all the 8 cases are in Turbo.

In Lamu, all the (6) cases are in Lamu West while in Machakos, the (5) cases are in Kathiani (3) and Athi River (2).

The two cases recorded in Narok are from Narok North while in Wajir, the two cases are in Wajir East.

Fafi, Nyamira Town, Kieni, Kiminini sub-counties of Garissa, Nyamira, Nyeri and Trans Nzoia country have recorded (1) case each.

49 people have been discharged from various facilities bringing the total number of recoveries to 2881.

One person has also succumbed to the coronavirus, bringing the total number of fatalities to 185.
