County officer among two killed in Nyamira accident, three others injured

Two people were on Monday morning killed and three others seriously injured following a road accident involving a truck, car and motorbike at Sironga area, Nyamira County.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the County Traffic Commander Osman Said said the 9am accident occurred when the driver of the saloon car, who was driving towards Nyamira town from Ting’a, lost control and collided with the oncoming truck.

According to Mr. Said, the motorcycle rider — who was behind the saloon car — hence also lost control and hit the car from behind.

The motorcycle rider and driver of the saloon car died on the spot while three people who were in the truck are currently receiving treatment at the Nyamira District Hospital.

Bodies of the deceased were also transferred to the same hospital’s mortuary.

The driver of the saloon car has since been identified as Enoch Omwenga, an employee of the Nyamira County Assembly in the Human Resource department.
