County staffer charged with stealing from ChukaReferral Hospital

A pharmacist working at Chuka Referral Hospital was arraigned in court for allegedly stealing medical drugs at the facility’s pharmacy.

John Mugambi, who is an employee of Tharaka Nithi County Government, was arraigned before Resident Magistrate Lydia Masaba where he was charged for stealing the drugs worth Ksh7,600.

He denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh.150,000 with a surety of a similar amount.

Mugambi was arrested with the drugs on Monday, November 13 outside the hospital without any documents.

The case will be heard on November 27.
