Couple in bhang case appear in court

A couple that was arrested on Wednesday at Babadogo area of Ruaraka-Nairobi county with bhang has been arraigned in court.

The two suspects, Paul Otieno Ochieng and Grace Akoth Otieno, appeared before trail magistrate Joyce Ngandani where they pleaded not guilty and were released on cash bail of 300,000 shillings each.

They were charged with one count of trafficking in narcotic drugs namely cannabis with a street value of 341,000 shillings.

According to the charge sheet, the couple committed the offence on the 17th of this month at Kasabuni area within Nairobi County.

The case will be heard on 5th of September this year with the mentioning date set for 29th of this month.
