Couple kills, buries son, 1, in love triangle

A 25-year-old man is currently being held at Akala Police Station after he allegedly killed and secretly buried his lover’s 1-year-old son at Kanyadet sub-location in Gem sub-county.

Samson Ochieng was arrested after the area local administration received information that together with the woman, they had secretly buried the child without even informing their close relatives.

According to South West Gem location chief Mr Paul Nyajure, the suspect had allegedly snatched his 60-year-old uncle’s wife and mother of the boy who had come to stay with him.

Nyajure added that the two are suspected to have connived and killed the infant because he belonged to the uncle, before burying his remains secretly.

The administrator told Radio Ramogi that the issue was discovered when the neighbors noticed a sudden disappearance of the child and reported the matter to police.

Chief Nyajure, who confirmed the suspect’s arrest, said the man is currently locked up at Akala Police Station where he is helping with investigations after which he will be arraigned in court to face charges.
