Couple pulls off fun 50-guest virtual wedding in under two hours on Zoom

When lockdown means you cannot walk down the aisle. When the coronavirus pandemic means your family and friends cannot congregate to hear you mutter ‘ I do’, you improvise.

An American couple has made news after they pulled off their wedding in under two hours, inviting 50 guests into their virtual nuptials.

Parents of the groom joined the virtual wedding from their London home, decked in their tuxedos and gowns.

A handful of guests dressed in all manners of outfits ranging from pyjamas to street wear joined the video chat, with glasses of champagne in hand to toast to the newly-weds.

The guests introduced themselves before the wedding ceremony hit the road with a close friend of the couple officiating the ceremony- albeit virtually.

When all was said and done and the bride was kissed, the invited guests got down to the celebrations, serving themselves their own food and drinks.

The latest comes after the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, made it legal for couples to hold online weddings as COVID-19 continues to spread around the world.

The new order allows clerks to conduct internet wedding ceremonies and for couples to obtain a marriage license remotely.
