Court detains police officer accused of killing colleague in Samburu
A police officer accused of shooting and killing his colleague in Mararal town, Samburu County has been detained for seven days pending conclusion of investigations.
The suspect, Patrick Marua, was arraigned in a Mararal court on Monday where the prosecution was allowed more time to continue holding him.
The accused, an Administration Police (AP) officer, will also undergo a mental assessment to confirm that he is of sound mind to stand trial.
The officer is said to have fatally shot his senior following a disagreement over work station change on Saturday evening at AP line in Maralal town.
The body of the deceased was taken to Samburu County Referral Hospital mortuary.
