Court Dismisses Charges Against Mubarak

Judge Mahmoud el-Rashidy dismissed charges linking Mubarak to the deaths of hundreds of protesters during the 2011 revolt.

Judge el Rashidy also found him not guilty of corruption.

However, media reports confirmed that Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat will appeal against Mubarak’s verdict.

Hosni Mubarak ruled Egypt as a president for 29 years.

He was convicted in 2012 for issuing orders to kill peaceful protesters during the country's 2011 uprising and was sentenced to life in prison whereby he appealed and was granted a new trial in 2013.

Mubarak’s former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly had also been accused of being connected to the deaths of 239 protesters in 2011.
